The women's Bundesliga will receive a planned investment of €100 million ($115 million) over a period of eight years from 2026 onwards, German Football Federation president Bernd Neuendorf has said.
Neuendorf told reporters ahead of Friday's DFB assembly where he seeks re-election, that a joint venture is planned with members of the 14 top flight clubs and the DFB.
This new company is to be founded on Friday, with approval considered a formality.
Neuendorf had announced the investment in an interview with the Frankfurter Rundschau paper. He said the biggest DFB investment since construction of its campus in Frankfurt was needed because the Bundesliga "most urgently become more professional."
Not all players can make a living from their contracts in the Bundesliga which was increased from 12 to 14 teams this season.
The investment is also to make it more attractive for the best German players to stay in the country and not leave for England and other countries.
Women's national team coach Christian Wück has named the growth plan and investment "justified and absolutely necessary as well."
