Bayern's Freund: 'Enough said' about pursuit for Woltemade

Bayern Munich sporting director Christoph Freund thinks "enough has been said" about the club's pursuit to sign VfB Stuttgart forward Nick Woltemade.

"There's so much talk and speculation - all sorts of things. Sums are buzzing around - deadlines. I think enough has already been said," he said after the 2-1 win in a friendly match against Grasshopper Club Zurich.

Bundesliga champions Bayern and German Cup winners VfB Stuttgart face each other on Saturday in the Supercup to mark the start the German football season.

Stuttgart CEO Alexander Wehrle said that "everything should be settled by kick-off at the latest." Any offer after that deadline would not be considered and Woltemade would stay at the club for another season.

Bayern's attempts to sign the 23-year-old talent have so far failed, as Stuttgart have turned down two offers, the second in the region of €55 million ($64.4 million), without even starting talks.

Woltemade is said to be ready for a move to Munich despite a Stuttgart contract until 2028, but the club will reportedly only start considering letting him go if an offer of at least €65 million is tabled.

Freund didn't want to comment about a potential space in the budget to increase their offer in case Kingsley Coman completes a transfer to Saudi Arabia's Al Nassr.

Coman wasn't in the squad for the match against Grasshopper, but Freund said it had nothing to do with a possible transfer.

"King is ill, otherwise he would have been in the squad," he said.
